Hi, I'm lisa oberst

As a lifelong creator, I’ve always been drawn to the art of making functional beautiful. I grew up working alongside my father in his wood shop, sewing curtains and clothing, and wandering the aisles of the local hardware store in awe of the tools and materials that bring ideas to life. These early experiences shaped my passion for and intuitive understanding of the creative and technical aspects of design.

I began my career with one of the nation’s largest residential spec builders, where I learned to see a home holistically — balancing aesthetics with the management, execution, and technical intricacies of construction. More than two decades later, that foundation continues to frame my craft as an interior designer and construction manager.

Based in Manhattan Beach and the mother of three grown children, I approach each project with a deep respect for how people truly live. I bring a unique level of artistry and care to what I do, as I believe true design lives in the details — how a door opens, how light moves through a space, how texture creates drama and sanctuary.

No two homes I design are ever the same, because no two people or families are the same. While warmth, refinement, and a sense of ease may thread through my portfolio, each space remains an entirely distinct reflection of the people who call it home.
